A new dedicated truck parking facility has opened in Nakonde, adding supporting infrastructure for freight operators using one of Zambia’s busiest cross-border trade gateways.
Africa Truck Park, a new addition to the Time Group family, has been established to serve truck drivers, fleet operators and other transport businesses moving through Nakonde.
The company announced the opening of the truck park facility on its official LinkedIn page yesterday, positioning it as a new support facility for truck drivers and transport operators travelling through the border town.
Nakonde sits on Zambia’s northern trade axis towards Tanzania, making truck parking, staging and driver-support infrastructure an important part of keeping freight flows around the border organised.

Truck parks are becoming an increasingly important part of corridor infrastructure. Beyond providing parking, well-positioned facilities can help reduce roadside truck queues, improve driver safety and give transport operators more predictable staging points while awaiting border processing or onward movement.
